  • CIRCULAR ECONOMY HOTSPOT

We are excited to announce that Wales will be hosting the Circular Economy Hotspot between the 7-9 October this year, and we would be delighted if relevant colleagues from your regions and countries could attend. We also extend a warm invitation to relevant business and academic delegations from your regions and countries to participate in the event. We are committed to working with you to ensure you and your delegations have ample opportunities to meet and network with stakeholders to discuss potential international collaborations.

At the Hotspot, we will showcase Wales' circular economy achievements and aspirations, while learning about innovative circular economy solutions from the public sector, private sector, and communities both within Wales and globally. Attendees will have the opportunity to directly engage with Welsh projects across various sectors, including industry, business, public bodies, academia, and local communities.

We look forward welcoming circular economy innovators, leaders, and thinkers from around the world to foster relationships and explore opportunities for international collaboration. This event is a unique opportunity to gain key insights from Wales on our journey to transition from an extractive use-and-dispose society to a more sustainable, circular one, with the wellbeing of future generations at the forefront of decision making.

We will demonstrate how we’ve aligned our circular economy and climate change strategies to deliver landmark achievements, including being recognised as the second-best in the world for recycling. The conference will highlight the importance of circular principles and practices in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals and our own wellbeing goals for Wales. It will showcase the collaborative, partnership-led approach we are taking to meet these goals.

Attendees will be encouraged to network widely across sectors and borders, sharing ideas, learnings, and best practices to inspire the drive towards a circular future.

Attendance at the event will be complimentary for partners and delegations from your regions and countries. We look forward to welcoming you and your delegations to the Circular Economy Hotspot Cymru 2024.
